Associate Director Campus Management (w/m/d)

Vallendar
Full-time
Temporary

General information

Do you want to do more than just manage buildings—do you want to actively help shape the future of a campus? Then take on a key role in campus management at WHU’s Vallendar campus. Working directly with the Director of Campus Management, you’ll ensure that our buildings, technical facilities, and services operate reliably, that projects are implemented effectively, and that digital solutions measurably improve campus operations. This role combines operational responsibility with strategic autonomy in an international university setting.

This position is initially a one-year fixed-term contract with the potential to become extended or permanent.

Your mission

You will be responsible for the operational management of key facility management issues on the Vallendar campus and for ensuring the functional, safe, and cost-effective operation of the properties and building systems. You will coordinate maintenance, manage external service providers, monitor quality, costs, and deadlines, and oversee construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance projects. In addition, you will take responsibility for the further development of our FM processes, support energy and sustainability initiatives, and act as a representative of the Director of Campus Management within your defined area of responsibility. At the same time, you will drive digital transformation in Campus Management—particularly in the areas of CAFM/IWMS, digital documentation, data quality, interfaces, and user-friendly implementation in day-to-day operations.

Your profile

You hold a degree in engineering, facility management, civil engineering, or a comparable technical qualification with relevant additional training. You have several years of professional experience in a leadership role in facility management, project management (knowledge of a project management methodology such as Prince2 is desirable), or in the administration of digital FM systems. You can manage teams and service providers, drive projects forward in a structured manner, and clearly coordinate complex issues with various stakeholders. Ideally, you are familiar with CAFM/IWMS systems and their implementation, digital documentation, building services, operator responsibilities, and sustainable campus and real estate development. Proficiency in German and English is required.
