General information

At WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, we are committed to academic excellence, innovative teaching, and an inspiring, international learning environment.
We welcome expressions of interest from qualified academics (f/m/d) and experienced practitioners (f/m/d) who are enthusiastic about contributing to our programs as External Lecturers (f/m/d).
External Lecturers (f/m/d) support selected modules across our degree and executive education programs. Teaching assignments are made based on program needs and the alignment of your expertise with our curriculum.
To ensure a meaningful and efficient review process, we kindly ask prospective applicants (f/m/d) to carefully assess whether their academic background and teaching profile align with WHU’s standards and portfolio before submitting an application.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment
  • Communicate complex topics in a clear, structured, engaging, and practice-oriented way
  • Inspire and motivate highly driven and high-performing students
  • Foster critical thinking and independent learning
  • Provide constructive and developmental feedback
Teaching may take place in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats, depending on the respective program.
You integrate relevant research insights and practical perspectives into your teaching and make advanced academic knowledge accessible to diverse student audiences.
You actively contribute to WHU’s academic community by upholding our values of integrity, diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect.

Your profile

You hold a Master’s degree (or higher) in your field of expertise and possess solid subject-matter knowledge at university level. Ideally, you have teaching experience at a recognized college or university and are confident teaching in English (minimum B2 level, C1 preferred).
We particularly value candidates (f/m/d) who:
  • Combine academic rigor with practical relevance
  • Approach teaching thoughtfully and reflectively
  • Demonstrate a structured and student-centered teaching style
  • Are comfortable engaging ambitious and internationally diverse student cohorts
We encourage applications from candidates (f/m/d) whose expertise clearly complements WHU’s academic portfolio and quality standards. Applications that do not meet the formal academic criteria or lack a clear subject fit cannot be considered.
