Zur Verstärkung unseres Führungsteams suchen wir zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine erfahrene und engagierte Leitung (w/m/d) für den Bereich Finanzen mit Schwerpunkt Controlling.

Als Teil des Teams der Kanzlerin übernehmen Sie die fachliche und disziplinarische Führung der Teams Controlling und Finanzbuchhaltung. Sie leisten einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur strategischen Weiterentwicklung unseres Finanzbereichs und schaffen Transparenz für fundierte Entscheidungen der Hochschulleitung.
Ihre Aufgaben
  • Weiterentwicklung von Berichts- und Steuerungsprozessen sowie Kennzahlensystemen
  • Einführung und Optimierung digitaler Lösungen im Controlling und in der Finanzbuchhaltung – inklusive Aufbau eines Data-Warehouse-Systems
  • Fachliche Führung und Entwicklung der Teams Controlling und Finanzbuchhaltung: Integration, Entwicklung und Motivation der Mitarbeitenden
  • Verantwortung für die Erstellung von Monats-, Quartals- und Jahresabschlüssen sowie die interne Steuerung finanzieller und nicht-finanzieller KPIs
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Kostenstellenverantwortlichen und Entscheidungsträger*innen in den Fachbereichen
  • Unterstützung der Hochschulleitung, der Stiftung WHU und weiterer interner Stakeholder bei strategischen und finanzwirtschaftlichen Fragestellungen
Ihr Profil
  • Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium der Betriebswirtschaft, des Wirtschaftsingenieurwesens oder vergleichbar – idealerweise mit Schwerpunkt Controlling oder Rechnungswesen
  • Mehrjährige relevante Berufserfahrung im Controlling, idealerweise in einer leitenden Position
  • Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten und strategisches Denkvermögen
  • Nachgewiesene Führungsstärke, Teamorientierung und Kommunikationsgeschick
  • Hohes Maß an Eigeninitiative, Innovationsfreude und Umsetzungsstärke
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit Controlling-Systemen sowie in der Digitalisierung von Finanzprozessen
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

To strengthen our leadership team, we are looking for an experienced and committed individual to take on the role of Director Controlling & Finance (f/m/d).

As part of the Head of Administration’s team, you will assume overall responsibility for the Controlling and Finance departments. In this key leadership position, you will drive the strategic development of our financial operations and ensure transparency to support data-driven decision-making by the School’s Core Leadership Team.
Your mission
  • Further development of financial reporting and performance management systems
  • Implementation and optimization of digital solutions in controlling and financial accounting, including the implementation of a data warehouse
  • Leadership and development of the Controlling and Finance teams: integration, motivation, and support of team members
  • Responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as well as internal reporting of financial and non-financial KPIs
  • Close collaboration with cost center managers and decision-makers across academic and administrative units
  • Strategic support for WHU’s Core Leadership Team, WHU Foundation, and other internal stakeholders on financial matters
Your profile
  • University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field – ideally with a focus on Controlling 
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in Controlling in a leadership role
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Proven leadership abilities, team orientation, and excellent communication skills
  • Proactive mindset with a high level of initiative and openness to innovation
  • Hands-on experience with controlling systems and digital finance processes
  • Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken
