Am Lehrstuhl für Organisationsverhalten beschäftigen wir uns mit der Frage, wie Topmanager:innen in schwierigen Situationen effektiv führen. Dazu gehört Führung in Extremsituationen wie Krisen und Skandalen, aber auch das Führen im alltäglichen Kontext von VUCA, Transformation und disruptivem Wandel.
Dabei zielt unsere Forschung einerseits auf die Veröffentlichung in internationalen Spitzenjournalen. Andererseits ist uns die praktische Umsetzung unserer Forschungsergebnisse in der Unternehmenspraxis wichtig. Zu diesem Zweck bearbeiten wir neue und innovative Forschungsfragen in internationalen Forschungsgruppen mit führenden Wissenschaftler:innen aus der ganzen Welt. Zugleich arbeiten wir jedoch auch mit Unternehmenspraktiker:innen, um die praktische Relevanz unserer Arbeit zu gewährleisten. Auf diese Weise verbinden wir theoretische und praktische Handlungsempfehlungen, um zugleich einen Beitrag zu Forschung, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft zu leisten.
Ihre Aufgaben
Ihre Hauptaufgaben sind:
Erstellung Ihrer Dissertation in englischer Sprache
Unterstützung bei der Vorbereitung und Durchführung der Lehrveranstaltungen im BSc und MSc Programm
Betreuung der BSc und MSc Studierenden bei ihren Abschlussarbeiten
Ihr Dissertationsprojekt:
Ihr Promotionsvorhaben ist Teil der Forschungsschwerpunkte des Lehrstuhls (sehen Sie dazu auch gerne die Homepage unseres Lehrstuhls)
Sie entwickeln innovative Forschungsbeiträge, die sowohl einen Beitrag zur Entwicklung neuer Theorien wie auch zur unternehmerischen Praxis leisten
Sie verwenden quantitative Methoden für Ihr empirisches Forschungsprojekt, dass Sie eigenverantwortlich vorantreiben
Sie streben danach, Ihre Forschungsarbeiten in internationalen referierten Fachzeitschriften zu veröffentlichen
Ihr Profil
Sie haben einen exzellenten M.Sc. (oder einen gleichwertigen) Hochschulabschluss in BWL oder (Wirtschafts-)Psychologie (oder werden Ihr Studium in Kürze erfolgreich abschließen)
Sie verfügen über ausgezeichnete Englischkenntnisse, die Sie durch eine in Englisch verfasste M.Sc.-Thesis oder B.Sc.-Thesis nachweisen können
Sie haben Erfahrung mit qualitativen/quantitativen Forschungsmethoden, d.h. Sie haben im Rahmen Ihres bisherigen Studiums eine eigene qualitative/quantitative Studie durchgeführt und diese in ihrer Master- und/ Bachelorarbeit dargestellt
Optimalerweise verfügen Sie bereits über Fachwissen in Bezug auf theoretische Modelle im Bereich Organizational Behavior oder angrenzenden Bereichen
Sie haben idealerweise erste Erfahrung im Verfassen von wissenschaftlichen Artikeln gesammelt
Sie wollen sich im Rahmen Ihrer Promotion fordern und fördern lassen, um herauszufinden, ob eine wissenschaftliche Karriere langfristig zu Ihnen passt
Sie arbeiten selbständig, strukturiert und zielorientiert
Sie haben ein gutes Zeitmanagement

General information
At the Chair of Organizational Behavior, we deal with the question of how top managers can lead effectively in difficult situations. This includes leadership in extreme situations such as crises and scandals, but also leadership in the everyday context of VUCA, transformation and disruptive change.
On the one hand, our research aims to be published in top international journals. On the other hand, the practical implementation of our research findings in business practice is important to us. To this end, we work on new and innovative research questions in international research groups with leading scientists from all over the world. At the same time, however, we also work with business practitioners to ensure the practical relevance of our work. In this way, we combine theoretical and practical recommendations for action in order to contribute to research, business and society at the same time.
Your mission
Your main tasks are:
Preparation of your dissertation in English
Support in the preparation and implementation of courses in the BSc and MSc program
Supervision of BSc and MSc students in their final theses
Your dissertation project:
Your dissertation project is part of the research focus of the chair (please refer to the homepage of our chair)
You develop innovative research contributions that support both to the development of new theories and to business practice
You use quantitative methods for your empirical research project, which you drive forward independently
You strive to publish your research work in international peer-reviewed journals
Your profile
You have an excellent M.Sc. (or equivalent) degree in business administration or (business) psychology (or will soon successfully complete your studies)
You have an excellent command of English which you can demonstrate through an M.Sc. thesis or B.Sc. thesis written in English
You have experience with qualitative/quantitative research methods, i.e. you have conducted your own qualitative/quantitative study as part of your previous studies and presented this in your Master's and/or Bachelor's thesis
Ideally, you already have specialist knowledge of theoretical models in the field of organizational behavior or related areas
Ideally, you have gained initial experience in writing scientific articles
You want to be challenged and supported during your doctoral studies to find out whether an academic career suits you in the long term
You work independently, in a structured and goal-oriented manner
You have good time management skills
You are a team player
