Wir suchen zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt einen Controller (w/m/d) für die Abteilung Finanzen an der WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Die Stellenausschreibung umfasst das typische Tätigkeitsspektrum im Controlling und richtet sich an zahlen- und datenaffine Talente (w/m/d) mit einer hohen Neigung zu analytischen und konzeptionellen Fragestellungen.

Ihre Aufgaben

Erstellung von Budgets und Prognosen mit Schwerpunkt auf Sach- und Personalkosten
Durchführung von Abweichungsanalysen und Ableitung von Maßnahmen zur Zielerreichung in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Budgetverantwortlichen
Erstellung, Standardisierung und Weiterentwicklung der internen Finanzberichterstattung
Durchführung von Abschlusstätigkeiten im Rahmen der Kostenstellenrechnung sowie Einführung einer aussagekräftigen Kostenträgerrechnung
Einführung und Weiterentwicklung von Controlling-Software (Business Central, Data Warehouse und BI-Tools) sowie Weiterentwicklung von Methoden (z.B. Deckungsbeitragsrechnung)
Definition und Reporting von steuerungsrelevanten Kennzahlen und Durchführung von Benchmark-Analysen

Ihr Profil

Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium der Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Wirtschaftsinformatik oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation
Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Controlling, idealerweise mit Schwerpunkt auf Sach- und Personalkosten im Rahmen einer Kostenstellenrechnung
Freude an der Weiterentwicklung von Controlling-Prozessen, -Methoden und -Lösungen sowie ein ausgeprägtes Business-Partner-Mindset
Sehr gute Excel- und PowerPoint-Kenntnisse, sowie Erfahrung im Umgang mit BI-Tools
Hohe Zahlenaffinität, ausgeprägte Analysefähigkeiten sowie eine selbstständige und vorausschauende Arbeitsweise
Teamfähigkeit und Kommunikationsstärke in deutscher und englischer Sprache

General information

We are looking for a Controller (f/m/d) to immediately join the finance department at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. The job posting covers typical range of activities of a controller and is aimed at talented people (f/m/d) with an affinity for numbers and data and a strong inclination towards analytical and conceptual problem solving.

Your mission

Preparation of budgets and forecasts with a focus on operating and personnel costs
Performance of variance analyses and derivation of corrective actions to achieve targets, in close collaboration with budget owners
Preparation, standardization, and continuous development of internal financial reporting
Execution of period-end closing activities within cost center accounting, as well as the implementation of a meaningful cost object accounting system
Implementation and further development of controlling software (Business Central, Data Warehouse, and BI tools), as well as the advancement of controlling methodologies (e.g. contribution margin analysis)
Definition and reporting of key performance indicators relevant for management control, and execution of benchmark analyses

Your profile

Successfully completed degree in economics, business administration, business informatics, or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in controlling, ideally with a focus on operating and personnel costs within a cost center accounting environment
Enjoyment in the continuous development of controlling processes, methods, and solutions, combined with a strong business partner mindset
Very good proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience working with BI tools
Strong numerical aptitude, well-developed analytical skills, and an independent, forward-looking working style
Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills in both German and English
