Forschung und Lehre am Lehrstuhl für Ökonometrie & Statistik konzentrieren sich auf die Analyse von multivariaten Zeitreihendaten. Schwerpunkte liegen auf Strukturbrüchen, Prognosen, adaptiven Lernalgorithmen und Long Memory, sowohl aus theoretischer als auch aus angewandter Sicht. Empirische Anwendungen konzentrieren sich auf makroökonomische, Finanzmarkt- und Klimadaten.
Ihre Aufgaben
Der erfolgreiche Bewerber (w/m/d) betreibt theoretische und empirische Forschung in den Bereichen Ökonometrie, Statistik oder Data Science, mit dem Ziel, die Ergebnisse auf internationalen Konferenzen vorzutragen und in renommierten Fachzeitschriften zu veröffentlichen.
Es bestehen keine Lehrverpflichtungen, jedoch wird dem erfolgreichen Bewerber (w/m/d) die Möglichkeit gegeben, Tutorien oder Vorlesungen zu halten.
Die Stelle ist ab dem 1. Juni 2025 zu besetzen. Der Standardvertrag hat eine Laufzeit von drei Jahren und kann auf maximal sechs Jahre verlängert werden.
Ihr Profil
Von den Bewerbern wird erwartet, dass sie einen Master-Abschluss in Ökonometrie, Statistik oder Data Science haben oder in Kürze haben werden oder sich in einem verwandten Studiengang auf einen dieser Bereiche spezialisert haben.
Vertrautheit mit Computerprogrammiersprachen wie R, Matlab, Stata oder C ist erforderlich.
Hervorragende englischen Sprachkenntnisse werden als selbstverständlich vorausgesetzt. Deutschkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich.

General information
Research and teaching at the Chair of Econometrics & Statistics focuses on the analysis of multivariate time series data. Topics of interest include structural breaks, forecasting, adaptive learning algorithms, and long memory, both from theoretical and applied perspectives. Empirical applications concentrate on macroeconomic, financial and climate data.
Your mission
The successful applicant (f/m/d) will conduct theoretical and empirical research in econometrics, statistics or data science, with the objective of presenting the results at international conferences and publishing them in high-quality research journals.
There are no teaching obligations, yet the successful applicant (f/m/d) will be given the opportunity to give tutorials or lectures.
The position is available from 1st June 2025 onwards. The standard contract runs for three years and can be extended up to a maximum of six years.
Your profile
Applicants are expected to hold, or soon to be holding, a Master’s degree in econometrics, statistics or data science, or to have majored in one of these areas as part of a degree in a related field.
Familiarity with computer programming languages such as R, Matlab, Stata or C is required.
Proficiency in English is taken for granted; knowledge of German is not necessary.
